Green

Lorna

Around

And woven throughout

Runs the green ribbon

Of early Spring

Of new leaves

Of daisy chains on downy brows of youth

And in those days

Of enough green

To tie together young hearts

And hopeful hands

With verdant tendrils

Looking down we cry in pain

As they turn brown

    Lovely write ๐Ÿ™‚

  • dusk arising

Lovely wordplay surrounding this metaphor of young love.

  • Paul Bell

Life in a flash, and if one is not careful that's exactly how it goes. The in between and the journey moving forwards, and the part we hate talking about.

May the green of Nature be forever in the background of Nature's Artwork Lorna.

    Hats off
    To the changing seasons
    The golden brown surrounds
But your poetry kept me fresh
Maybe itโ€™s the start of a new challenge though the season is in process of rotting

  • L. B. Mek

always enjoy it, when I read
    about season's, the total opposite
    of what we're currently experiencing
    it's a wonderful way
    to ascertain our hope's
that, the sunshine in our lives
is but a gentle breeze, away...
    thanks for sharing
    a wonderful read
