The Advance of Mankind

Classicmister

Search the caverns of your mind

Probe their deepest depths to find

The reason why it all began

To rise on earth this creature Man

Climbing high from lowly means

To near the summit of his dreams

To grow more clever year on year

Advancing to each new frontier

But now the time has surely come

To act for all and not just some

To slow his filthy air emissions

To cut his technological ambitions

Reduce his fouling of the air

A message for the World to share

The time has come to check his rise

Before mankind and nature dies

This needs to be said time and again before we truly see actions making a cure.
Lets not forget the other pollutions which are corrupting our planet. For example the huge island of plastic mid atlantic and the harm plastics do to our undersea wildlife.

    • Classicmister

Thanks for your comment - I share your concerns about other pollutions and especially the unrelenting use of plastics.

        Well crafted dear poet
        The words so well played
They flew as gentle river but the thoughts they make are strong and clear
I hope man realises and owns his mistake before it’s too late

        • Classicmister

Thanks for your comment - Yes, let's hope that we can put things right before it' too late!

Very true Classicmister, those in power only talk about making things better and those who can do something about it do not want to leave their ivory towers.

          Andy

Andy - Of course their towers would have to have been made of ivory! Let's have less talk and more action!
            Go well
