Hopes and Fears

James Alexander

Just by luck we caught sight

of petals pink with such delight.

Peeking out from foliage green,

Delicate and lovely it would seem.

Blessed by tears from above,

nurtured by nature's gentle love.

From your soft whisper to my ear

my eyes became cleansed with tears;

tears remembering joy and sorrow,

tears of hope for a bright tomorrow.

For I could not help but discover

what hopes and fears reside in lovers.

    May those hopes always outweigh the fears in our lives James.
