For my Father....

Saxon Crow

2-1a score of joy

2-1 the man's no longer a boy

2-1 not meaning to gloat

2-1 but i finally beat the old goat

2-1 the greatest score

2-1 he won't want to play anymore

2-1 father you know it just happened

2-1 after 35yrs I beat you at backgammon!

Well you are getting older yourself and I did not want to see you cry again at your age, I am ok with that as I am an old age perisher.

    Daddy.

      I'll take that. A wins a win

OK now put those L plates away and stop playing 'the beginner'.

      • Saxon Crow

I've given it to my daddy. L for loser!

It took a great deal of training from me to LET him win for a change.
Wait until today all will be different.

          Good write SC.
I never did re-start learning backgammon! Doh!

It's only my dad I play with sadly. So enjoy it tremendously when we do get together

I’ve never played backgammon, but I love the banter here in your poem!

              • Saxon Crow

Thanks Sherbs. It's been a long standing thing between my dad and me. I could also talk about the time I thrashed him at croquet!

Lol never played that either… I don’t get out much 😂 but it sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with your father!
