Linger
Just because you cannot see me
does not mean I’m nowhere near
and
just because you cannot feel me
does not mean I’m less than real
I am not
gone, I need to linger
just to check that nothing’s wrong
I never
told you I might be leaving
I just could not find the right words
to place
inside this mourning song for
safe keeping, until this whole affair
is over
and I am well and truly done .. x

A haunt of a mourning song this - it
reminds me that "Parting is such sweet sorrow " when hearts want to linger on........ tender as ever mon ami are these lines of gentle appeal.......x
thanking you is never less than a pleasure my dear lady Fay ....................... I could do it all day long 🙂 x
'I just
could not find the right words
to place
inside
this mourning song
for safe keeping,'..
(how acutely, you portray
that need, to feel
like our Time spent
at another's side, won't
be considered, so miniscule
and steeped in irrelevance, in seconds
after, that abrupt goodbye
of our raked-raw, worded emotions..)
subtly poignant, a heart wrenching depiction
of the person in the relationship
who, lingers
in the embers of the ruins, long abandoned...
simply beautiful, dear masterful Poet
love the unassuming flow and accessible wording
one of your very Best!
'in my humble opinion'
Cor blimey Guv'nor, got me lost for words so you have sir .......................... thanks a bundle .. Neville
Beautifully told, of emotions contortions as we endure trying times in 'togetherness'.

not surprised in the slightest ........................ ta Orchidee ..................................................... 🙂
So emotional and so poignant
The words brought tears
And so many memories lingered beside
To those whom I lost
I wonder whether they are happy where they are
I wonder if they are watching me
Such a mourning
I remember my grand parents
With whom most of my childhood memories are embed in my mind
I am pretty sure they are watching me
Well penned dear Neville
The poetry felt so personal to me
Thank you for sharing

First Nev, I have to state that I like the piece but am unable to put my rational spin on it. Further, I see some connection to the poem immediately preceding.......
