The Lone Man Humble

Nicholas Browning

What is one to do when even

Antipathy is riddled with indifference?

Finding plausibility in simple hellos,

When it's dead, where does it go?

When everything is opportunity,

When it all just fades away,

I find myself the bitter type

As life would wish to say -

Being anxious is a curse,

Looking forward is how you fall,

The fear of the one you love

Not caring for you at all -

Begs the question,

Do I hope you'll stick around?

Do I pray you feel the same?

If it's meaning that I've found -

And are we similar in age?

Do I expect another greeting,

Or the sound of nothing, layered thick?

Does the lone man remain humble

If he himself admits he is?

When it comes as no surprise,

I keep my eyes focused ahead,

And when it's down to you and me,

I'm in love with possibility.

Writing about touchy feelings isn't my strong suit. That's like 3 in a row now, please send help lol. Thanks a bunch for saying so 😛

That’s ok ) I guess you just write what you feel like writing about … don’t always have to write about the same things or in the same style

"And when it's down to you and me,

I'm in love with possibility." - Where do I even start? You open invisible windows here brother. I know and feel what these words mean. We've all been there, at the "in love with possibility" bus stop. Definitely a fave my friend. Kudos to you. I am enriched today.

Haha, thanks Garth. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. It certainly is a strange thing. I'm glad you feel that way my friend.
