Thankful Turning

Tune: Old Yeavering

('Like a mighty river flowing')

Luke 17 v.11-19

*********

Jesus in a certain village

Met ten men, lepers their visage

They stood far off, lifted voice

And made Jesus their choices

They said, Jesus, Master, Look on

Us, have mercy, you be God's Son

When He saw them, He said, Go to

The priests, and show yourselves too

And as they did go, they cleansed were

They were healed, they all did concur

And one of them turned back, with loud

Voice glory to God endowed

He fell down on his face when he

Returned to Jesus, and so be

He gave Him thanks, Samaritan

And Jesus did say there then

Were not ten cleansed? Where other nine?

Only this one gives glory fine

To God, he a stranger, but he

Now obtains healing fully

Jesus said to Him, Arise, go

Your way, your faith has made, this know

Made you whole, Lord, may thankful we

Be, glorify you as [did] he

    A new-ish hymn (to me - well, I'm very old!) from 1982.

there is something I quite like about this Mr. O ... maybe the fact it has a kinda newish flavour ...................................... 🙂

Thanks N. The original hymn is nearly 40 years old. Erm, that's quite 'new' for me! lol.

I think the message is still the same.
Some are truly thankful, some maybe thankful at a later date, some are never grateful.

So Dusk wrote and explained to all that it is really Fido writing these but I think the master must still have the last word.......
