Theories about marriage
From a 23 year old's pen –
Let's begin.
If you want to make a choice
Between staying or leaving
If you want to fight for the other
Until you're not breathing –
You can't get married.
Marriage provides safety,
You don't have a choice
And if you do, is hard to make –
You'll stopped by the Voice.
Marriage provides continuity,
It can be a burden, you cannot shake,
Sometimes you lose sight of the bigger picture
And become someone you hate.
Marriage provides a paper,
A contract between you two;
If you break it, you'll pay the price –
Emotionally and financially too.

Very true words. If you are going to get married, make sure they are the one.
Thank you, yes, I agree:)
Your thoughts (From a 23 year old's pen –) leave me unsure as to your opinion of the whole thing; But there is enough ambivalence there for me to advise against it for now (I could argue forever, but I'm trying very hard to be gentle).
The key word is ambivalence as you said:)
I think marriage is not for everyone. It's a choice. Many people just jump in it, and with time, they regret it, because they were so young and they didn't even know themselves.
But in my opinion, if you have kids, you should get married, because it provides them a stable environment. Although having kids can't be the only reason to get married.
Nor might it mean that the marriage will remain stable...'
While on the subject of children I might add that I encounter some antipathy when I council caution with respect to the production of kids into a very overpopulated, but especially unstable world.
I wish all gave the same thought and consideration you do within this subject area.
This is why I married a marriage councillor. She knew what side her contract was buttered.
Good choice! 🙂
I found the one in my life and we were together for almost 40 loving years before she passed into heaven nearly two years ago. In our time together our love grew moment by moment all the time.
When you find the right person it is so wonderful.
Andy
I'm sorry for you loss, but I'm sure it was a wonderful journey with her:)
