First Time

AnAlpaca

        I.
You were on MTV,
What did I see?
Angelic face,
Invading headspace,
Before you I fell,
Down love's well.
        II.
Seeing you again,
A prize you'd attain,
Drive a buggy to win,
But a partner's sin,
Caused you to lose,
Anger did ooze,
From eyes ethereal,
Your stance imperial.
      III.
Always on my mind,
Your eyes will remind,
Keep me on track,
How can I go back,
See sparkling eyes,
Feel love's highs?
      IV.
Older, feeling my age,
There you are, on stage!
You dance, laugh, and sing,
We should be kissing!
A hand I desire to hold,
But on you rolled.
Distant you are,
So, so very far.
      V.
So I sit and type,
Trying not to gripe.
No one else I desire,
Eyes still set afire,
Every inch of me,
There, on the marquee,
My angel will act and direct,
While my soul's left wrecked.

  • Comment from author about the poem: She means everything. She's my muse. My reason to publish. A reason to go on. I may never, ever meet her in person, but I write for her. I sing for her. As for now, I live for her.

Hopefully one day you will meet your angel.

Thank you. I wish that would happen but dreams and reality are two very different things.
