Tune: Veni Emmanuel
('O come, O come, Emmanuel')
Psalm 72 v.1-8 parts
********
The reign of the Messiah, advent sure
O God, give Him your judgements evermore
And your righteousness, He your Son
He be the holy and the promised One
His name, His name, shall endure for always
He is the Dayspring true through endless days
His name Jesus, He shall judge people right
Shall be even as in His Father's sight
And shall bring justice to the poor
His reign shall increase, spread to farthest shore
His name, His name, shall endure for always
He is the Dayspring true through endless days
He shall bring peace, bring help to the needy
Shall release people from oppression, see
People shall worship, godly fear
Son of God in human flesh does appear
His name, His name, shall endure for always
He is the Dayspring true through endless days
He shall come down like rain upon grass mown
As showers that water the earth, it known
In His days shall righteous flourish
Abundance of peace, satisfy each wish
His name, His name, shall endure for always
He is the Dayspring through through endless day
He shall have dominion from sea to sea
And o'er each land His rulership shall be
Help us prepare for your coming
Again, when you your eternal reign bring
His name, His name, shall endure for always
He is the Dayspring true through endless days

- Comment from author about the poem: An Advent hymn-poem in 10.10.8.10.10.10. metre. It is really 8.8.8.8.8.8. metre, but some of the longer notes allow for extra syllables to be included. Originally written for Old Testament King Solomon, but also prophesies of the coming King Jesus.

You're the best ambassador he's got - you've even got me thinking..... morning Orchi! Or late morning I should say.....
Thanks Lorna. Now is too much thinking dangerous, as some poems claim?! lol
Good one dear Orchi
Thanks S.
I like the idea behind this .. lets keep our fingers crossed ..
Thanks Neville. Here's a promise that will never come true. Here it is: 'I'm gonna stop singing permanently!' heehee.
