An umbrella stands in a caring colour

An umbrella stands silently in the rain

she’s quiet , protective

like that comfortable cloud calling peace to you

when you are in that place of tedious saddened grey

an umbrella stands silently in the rain

standing in protection of the girl who’s needing a calming comforting place to hide

she’s standing silently with only the brightly coloured design speaking with the girl

calming and strengthening her inner spirit

as the rain falls and the girl needs a hug

she’s found one in the umbrella

she’s already found one in the brightly coloured design

in the tenderness of the strong loving leaf

it’s not pouring mountains of rain yet

so the umbrella is enough

to keep her away from the outside world of running tears

and in the steady sunshine

without any sad sighing sadness pouring helplessly on her skin

an umbrella stands silently in the rain

speaking brightly of a coloured cheerfulness

and the strength like that of tender talkative branches

the girl is grateful , almost cheery eyed

because there’s that something standing lightly strong

ever so gently protecting her from the worlds tears

keeping her in a safe space

in a blanket , cushioned and loved by a comfortable cloud

she is happy to be looked after by something so bright eyed and comfortably cushion like

We all need some kind of prop or crutch at some time in our lives, to give us hope and support. Such a support can take many forms - the helping hand of another, or just our own inner strength. We need to look for the positive things in life - not always that easy to do. Hope you have a good day.

Maybe I was looking for some inner strength whilst writing this . Thankyou for your comment and kind words ๐Ÿ™‚ sometimes I feel so lost and alone within myself

Oh this is so endearing and well done! Had me wishing I was under that umbrella Yellowrose....

Pretty sure it's not my place to say this but reading this reminded me of someone else's poetry. She was someone I used to know. Got lost in the words, found myself somewhere looking for something again. Just thought I'd share what I felt. I enjoyed the read.

Thankyou Nicholas ๐Ÿ™‚ I felt kind of sad , empty and lost within as I was writing this , last night โ€ฆ but I wanted to write something about strength . Maybe I was talking about my inner child in this one , sometimes that part of me feels so sad . I guess we need to try and make ourselves feel a little bit better , when we feel sad and maybe it was my attempt at trying to find more of a sense of strength .

Interesting how it reminded you of someone elseโ€™s words )

All i can see is an outstanding person who's desire is to reassure someone who is less strong that her life is worth something more than she believes. Colour being that of positivity and yes we all need that dear Rose. ๐Ÿ’–

Thankyou teddy , for your kind words ๐Ÿ™‚๐ŸŒธ I know Iโ€™m worthy of more and that I matter and itโ€™s important to love and take care of myself โ€ฆ and somehow find that strength more of the time .

Glad you like this poem . Nice to focus on the idea of a colourful umbrella , trying to make myself feel a bit better โ€ฆ somehow

I see that you are each day dear Rose. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿค—

Its so wonderful to read your prose dear Rose
A simpleton object turns as a friend
So kindly you teach there are so many things accompanying us
I love the way, you use your imaginations and words
Such a beautiful personification and the friend that umbrella has been designated
              Simply lovely

you can beat an egg in the rain I guess, but you can't beat an umbrella

              .. lovely prose YellowRose & truly ๐Ÿ™‚

So many people (especially women) in my tropical country use the umbrella to protect themselves from the burning sun too. And sometimes it is used as a stick to shoo away fierce strays from getting too close. It can be used to whack a single attacker perhaps!? Thank you for sharing your umbrella.

            • Goldfinch60

May that umbrella be always in your life yellowrose and keep you comfortable at all time.
