Tenderness

James Alexander

Tenderness escapes me

has eluded me for years.

Can no one see my value?

For this I shed no tears.

My heart is like an empty room

for no other soul but mine.

Filled with empty dreams

biding the passage of time.

The flame of youth long past

like embers in the hearth,

beaten down by sorrows

did no one see my worth?

Then from nowhere did you

appear, by fortune so it seems

and with love and tenderness

gave life to my empty dreams.

Life can be sad, life can be cruel but hope endures.

Finding love can be a long, lonely waiting game. Be wary of being to susceptible though. Loves bites!

The stuff powerful love songs are made of. Your words restore faith sir Alexander. Be proud of them.
