You tolerated when I sang
Even smiled
I couldn’t sing a note really
So I dance around the house now
I do that pretty well
More my thing
But since you’re gone
If I’m not crying I am singing
My badly fluted notes take off
Involuntarily skyward to you
Maybe the journey will round them out
Take off those rough edges
And play for you like the harp symphony
They’re trying to be

Lovely writing , Lorna .., sad but beautiful )
Thanks YR......
Well, I think your dodgy notes will bring him back quicker than you think, and that's a good thing. Plus, singing is good for you, the neighbours tell me all the time.
Well if they're not throwing things at you you must not be yowling like a cat..... so you are one of the lucky ones.....
A fine write Lorna.
So...... someone DID tolerate it when you sang! That's more than can be said when they hear MY singing! lol.
Only just!
Beautiful.
Thank you Eugene!
Lovely 🙂
Thanks for that Draven...... you have such an interesting profile page story.....
True love only hears the notes, especially when recalled as sung here
Thanks Suresh - but I truly have an awful voice! Even in the shower......
simply splendid ..........................with or without those imagined rough edges ............. objectively, smooth as silk

As ol Abe said "You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time....but you can't fool all of the people all of the time"..... so not exactly where this falls on that scale...... just laughing.... don't have to answer this.....
Lovely poem.
Wonderful words Lorna, I am sure that those notes will reach him with a beautiful sound that he will keep with him forever.

I will send him your beautiful Kathleen Ferrier instead......... or maybe to my parents who absolutely adored her....... thanks for this!
A beautifully written poetic salute here Lorna, it doesn't matter how polished a homage is, just the fact that it's a tribute, is most definitely more than enough.
Bravo, and I hope that all is well!
