lovers have eyes
in which to gaze
and lips to touch
in pleasureful ways
but my only choice
since we're apart
is in written words
to touch your heart
perhaps some day
we'll have a choice
of a physical love
in which to rejoice

your words take me back to my years
of teen aged angst
when romance was measured in foolish numbered stages
even though, none of us played baseball
we still dreamed of running bases, lol
thanks for sharing, such a wonderful depiction
of tentative youth
