Still Waiting on Your Call

annonymouswonder

Lol goodnight

December 5th, 2019

Today it’s December 8th, 2020

That was our last message

I said you were like a brother to me and I meant it, so today feels like the worst

I wished I’d talk to you more, I wished we’d finished catching up

I thought I had my whole life to reach out to you

Come to find out, your life was much shorter than mine

I knew you were hurting, I knew it was bad

I didn’t know you’d go that far to relieve your pain

I hope you did find your joy and your peace, wherever you are

Cause I miss you dearly

December 6th 2021

Your anniversary is tomorrow, it makes me sad, but not as sad as I thought it would make me.

I still miss you, I think I always will, but I’ve let go of a lot of the grief

I still think of you whenever people talk about cars and fast and furious movies or when I hear a good Eminem song or any good rap in general.

I miss listening to what you’d write

I sent you a message on snapchat the other day, I know you’ll never open it, but I wanted to tell you something and didn’t know how else to

Buttercup left school and went home, her parents are getting her the help she needs

Everyone takes this stuff more seriously because of you

It was just a word till we lost you “suicide”, now it's something concrete

Anyways that was a bit of a tangent, but it was something worth mentioning

I hope you found your peace and the love you were looking for

I’m sorry it wasn’t made known how much you were loved in this life

I hope to meet you again on the other side of eternal life

But for now I’ll choose to have joy when I think of you

Because, I love you for how you lived, so I won’t dwell on how you died.

  • Comment from author about the poem: These are two letters I wrote and that I'll never show to the person I wrote them too. I wanted to share them with someone, so I guess I'm posting them here. Side note, If you need help, get help, more people love you than you know.

No words or comments can convey more that what you've posted here today. The paths we've followed and the people we've known are everything...

I'm so sorry for your loss, heartbreaking, but thank you so much for sharing this with us. xx

    (simply beautiful,
thank you for intrusting us with such private words)
I hope next year, will be that little bit easier
but that in 7 years time
your feelings wont have forgotten the warmth imbued in these letters,
    see
    I feel, when people share
a little bit of themselves with us
    its to help us, survive
    the gruelling trials of life
and even if what they share, begins
with us going through such a hard time
    what's important
is how, that shard of them which lingers within us
    marinates and evolves, over time
    from being a painful weakness
to that furnace, that helped forge
    our own iron will of belief;
and doing so, with them firmly
    by our side
so they may share, in our
    delights and despair of existence,
    so later on
in that unknown eternal, I like to think
    of our eventual home
we can all share a smile, catching-up
on all the bruises we've accumulated, side by side
