Mercy Manifest

Tune: Winchester Old

('When God of old came down from heaven')

Romans 15 v.9-13

*********

Jews and Gentiles both in God's plan

Salvation every man

Woman and child, all here below

That they might gospel know

For prophecies said, [For] His mercy

The Gentiles too shall, see

Glorify God, as shall the Jews

He brings us life, good news

They too unto His name shall sing

Shall rejoice in each thing

With praise and laud, e'en all people

He does call one and all

Isaiah, prophet said, There shall

Be a root*, we shall tell (*descendant)

Of family of Jesse, He

Christ, Son of God, so be

In Him shall the Gentiles trust still

Now the God of hope fill

You with all joy and with all peace

In believing, ne'er cease

That you may abound in hope through

His power, know it true

Power of the Holy Spirit

By Him your path be lit

I sort of get into hymns at Christmas, and I think it must be all the carol singers in the High st.
