Humility Honourable

Tune: Morning Hymn

('Awake my soul, and with the sun')

1 Peter 5 v.5-7

*********

Be subject to one another

To each Christian sister, brother

And be clothed with humility

Treating each other graciously

For God, He does resist the proud

Turns from the haughty, boastful, loud

And gives grace unto the humble

They do lovingly hear His call

Humble yourselves therefore under

The mighty hand of God for sure

That He may exalt you in due

Time which be suitable for you

Casting all you care on Him, for

He cares for you with concern pure

Trust to Him, live humble and meek

Daily His ways and will to seek

Reminds me of the prayer of St Francis both use the theme of humility to ask our Lord for his help and guidance. Another lovely hymn very enjoyable
