Looking at the Moon and the night sky
I feel the cold and forbidding black
Of shadows and stars
Surrounding me
And everything I know
This sensation grows
On the shore of this cosmic ocean
To know your celestial precipice
Of discovery and wonder.
Warmth of other Suns stand alone
Big mammoth beacons shine
All by themselves it seems
Sure fire gods of hydrogen
Burning bright and separate
And in between
The darkness
Chilling space
Of solitary vastness and silence.
In my imagination I travel out there
The final frontier I seek to know
An undiscovered country
An infinite, eternal sea
Expanding ever more
Out where invisible
Life and so many questions,
A tapestry of mystery
Await my eager curiosity.
Oh, beautiful, limitless awesomeness
Wait for me and my chariot
My vessel of dauntless build,
A fragile and humble
Means to reach out and touch you
Your nebulous star scape,
Your galaxies and worlds
That I might know your creation
And embrace my destiny!

You make the sky's awesomeness a friendly thing which I enjoyed because I find it bleak and cold......
Walking in the dark on a cold and foggy night does have a for bidding aspect but I travel with a light that shines brighter than the stars and one that gives me hope that just as the sunsets it also rises.
