Tune: Darwalls 148th
('Join all the glorious names'
OR 'Ye holy angels bright')
Psalm 139 v.9-16
********
If I take morning's wing
To flee from everything
And dwell out in the sea
The farthest I can be
Even there then, your Spirit, hand
Shall hold me, lead me to good land
If I say, dark surely
Shall cover, fall on me
Even the night shall be
As light round about me
For the darkness hides not from you
Lord, night shines as day to you true
The darkness and the light
Are alike in your sight
You made my inward parts
Weaved me right from the start
I will praise you, for I be made
By your awesome wondrous display
Marvellous your works be
My soul knows, does agree
My frame was from you not
Hid, you assigned my lot
When I was made in secret, bones
And all of me with skilful hones
You did see my substance
When still unformed, and thence
In your book my members
Were written, all concurs
You fashioned each one of them when
There were none, and gave me life then

Beautiful addition to your hymn book, you had help with this one I see a ghost writer or is that canine writer. Lovely read for with my morning coffee as i watch the sky turning from black to a beautiful silvery blue. ☕
Thanks WH. It's my (imaginary) dog, but if people forget to mark poems 18+, and they should have done, he barks very fiercely at them! lol.
A great one dear Orchi
The title drew me
Surrendering and falling to Almighty’s embrace
Thanks S.
Will you take up from Born to Unborn next Orchi? I know you'd make that uplifting as well.....
