Brown

Lorna

Tweeds and leather boots ramble

Under late autumn skies

Where dark bark of trees

Are etched in snow dust

And windfallen nuts

Are strewn over brown landscape

Cold winds follow

Trailing back to wooden cabin warmth

A log fire

And tea in a pottery mug

The colour of a full bodied ale to slake a working mans thirst.

What a delightful poetic picture your words paint today.

          • Lorna

I should have painted the ale into the picture - thank goodness you thought of it.

Earthenware mug hot chocolate and a rocking chair on the porch just drinking in the view you lay before our eyes, can almost smell the pinecones and nuts. Lovely. ☺

You are disciplined - no sugar! Anything your heart desires Andy! Maybe a touch of something stronger in the tea? And some of the lemon cookies I just made?

                      Things brown, in abundance
                      Warm us inside and out
When die, takes on color brown
                      To fertilize the living ones

                      Really enjoyed the poem
