First Christmas

Jerry Reynolds

Mary had just gotten
Baby Jesus asleep
Swaddled and
away in a manger.
Among the heavenly
host of on-lookers
a young boy
thinks to himself
“What this girl needs
is a drum solo.”

I'm really not keen on drums in places where they have 'Worship Groups'.
People complain that drums ruin otherwise good songs.
Yet variety is good too. It does not have to be ONLY an organist and choir for ever!
