Scrooge (A Redemptive Acrostic)

AuburnScribbler

Silent shame festers; in the shadow of

Christmas, though his enjoyment in

Relentless avarice; ebbs and flows like an

Ocean’s tide, the greater force is by far too

Overwhelming, thus, in a near death, written by a

Grotesque realisation, he turns over a new leaf, to

Embrace with his fellow man, with a thankful heart!

  • Comment from author about the poem: A major figure in classic English literature, who is celebrated this time of year; is obviously Ebenezer Scrooge, and his story of his road to redemption to become a better person is re-told in a myriad of adaptions. I feel that the masterwork "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, is an amazing piece of redemptive text, so I felt compelled to write this acrostic poem, which is accompanied by a piece of clipart work of Scrooge embracing Tiny Tim. I hope that you enjoy the poem, again have a Merry Christmas and as always, please stay safe everyone.

      The book is a masterpiece
And your sincere dedication matching its dignity
Dear poet you summed it up so well
The acrostic poetry is very nicely laid and connected
