My Friend.
You
bundle of heaven-made cuddly innocence,
my morning ray of waiting ritual,
that looked-for gift of anticipatory smiles
as I open my night-weighted eyes,
You
docile bone-loving mistress of patience
have grown yourself into my days.
You
bouquet of warm canine greeting,
my favoured scent of available sweetness,
model of intelligent compatibility
dressing each rising in mutual attraction.
You
perfecter of dumb communication
make my aloneness so touchingly grateful.
Tessa my friend
by craft of affectionate silence
your dog-sense adds spicy laughter to life.

Beautiful writing , Fay šš I love animals . Iām glad you have a dog to keep you company
Yes she is such a cutie and keeps me on my toes all the time Rose.
Fur wrapped luverlyness .... you can beat an egg, but ya can't beat a dog now can ya ....................................... x
Oh luverly indeed is her coat of black fur Nev. - - my little princess gives me so many laughs - who could ask for more..............x
Gorgeous looking lil dawg you have there (what breed is she?).
From your words today one might get the impression you two are quite attached..... but isn't it marvellous how a dawg can co-exist quite contented with us and obviously really enjoy our company and vice-versa. Yep, I love 'em.
Tess is a bit of mixture with yorkie being the main benefactor but pug coming in with her lips - - - they pout and draw men's attention like no other dog I have owned. Glad you love em too dear Dusk.
Ah Fay, the only thing better than a good dog is two good dogs. Wonderfully penned my friend.
Agree entirely dear Coyote - - have always had two at a time except for this latest and as yet have declined to get another as am so in love with Tess and her almost human personality - - your visit and comment on My Friend are much appreciated.
Wonderful words about man's/woman's best friend.
Andy
A fine write Fay. I say the same of Fido, though he does not exist! He is not friendly when poets do not mark poems 18+ though. lol.
How could anyone not like her?!
So much animal cruelty in the world. Yet so much - more we hope - animal kindness.
Yes little Tessa is a gem - thank you so much for your visit and comment dear Orchi
Yes, Fido is not what he seems. He barks ferociously if poets should mark poems 18+, but do not do so! lol.
