Battlefields

Poetic Dan

Battles untold put weight on the soul, becoming knots in the stomach where no  nourishment grows.

Words turn rotten letting stubbornness take control, no longer are high spirits driving the vessel.

No care to be found until writing in hopes of loosening a sound, wishing to not take this 6ft underground.

The voices may be loud but the whisper is pretty clear, nothing should feel like it's drowning or sucking up the atmosphere.

Apologies lingering as every action is judged, neither side realising this was all cracking the foundations of love.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This time has always been difficult time of year for me and although it's got better I still have difficulty letting go! I thought of the first line walking the dogs, wrote it down and the rest just went on....I guess my inner child still needs reassuring as my love is not ending but had to let go of the words I was thinking....I wish I had the energy to go through all your stories but hope you all are having the best you can kind of holidays! Much peace and respect, keep writing it!

We always get through it and without those feelings I'd never come here to write!

Let alone receive your precious time.. always appreciated.
May we go into the new year singing

Such powerful words Dan. This does happen in life but you have come so far in your life, you must continue into the good life you have made for youself.

Oh you fibber I know you love goering against the tide! How else we would we find words so powerful to help us go forward ever more...

Ha I like that, I'll get carried away for the both of us! See you on the other side my friend
