Nothing

James Alexander

Nothing

I got nothing. Sat down to write a poem and I got nothing.

I tried to think of something but came up with nothing.

I have been told before not to make something out of nothing

but that doesn’t help when you got nothing. Don’t we all

want something when we got nothing? Something is better

than nothing. Right? I suppose nothing is pretty good

sometimes. I got nothing to worry about. That’s pretty good, right?

But writers don’t get paid for writing nothing, not that I am getting

paid for writing this but I sure wish I had something to post. Had

something yesterday and hopefully I will have something tomorrow,

but now, hmm, I got nothing. I got nothing for my birthday last

year and the same thing again this year. When asked what I got

for my birthday I said, “nothing”. To which the reply was, “ain’t

that something”. Yeah, it sure is something. So, dear reader, while

I still got nothing to post, here is a little something I call nothing.

It was a fun write. Writing for humor is a nice changeup.
