OK!
V1
We’re scrolling the screen, in our lounges today,
We’re asking for you, to please give us some pay,
There’s a needy feeling in our brains,
Too many rejections, send our hopes down the drain!
Pre-Chorus
Rubbing, tired eyes, typing,
You need the staff grafting,
When you say yes!
Rubbing, tired eyes, typing,
You need the staff grafting,
When you say yes!
Chorus
Job-Hunting,
Chase and Employ!
Job-Hunting,
Chase and Employ!
Job-Hunting,
Chase and Employ!
Job-Hunting,
Chase and Employ!
V2
There’s no guarantee, that’s for sure,
But, have seen the emptiness of the shop floor,
Say goodbye to your local economy,
Now say hello to this brand new travesty!
V3
Our time’s running out, some die on the street,
All we want to do, is to live on our own two feet,
For there’s a desperation in our heads,
When you ignore CVs, you will leave us dead!

- Comment from author about the poem: So, it’s a new year, means for me, a new book of poetry, and this year’s book is entitled “Always Getting There”. This song; is the second “poem” in the book, and it focuses on the job market, which is still in very rough shape; due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When writing this, it very much echoed Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy”, of which I am fan, so my thanks goes to the heavy metal giants. Accompanying the song, is a YouTube lyric video of Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy” uploaded by TheDreadedDruid, that inspired it, and a piece of pertinent clipart from 123RF.com. I hope that you enjoy the song, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, and I'm not going to lie, I'm somewhat a bit jealous of your situation, but of course I am sure that it is well earned, but I really do hope some regular work does come my way, as freelancing isn't easy.
I hope that all is well!
