my heart could not follow

Jon Nakapalau

upon that soft spring breeze

that your sighs echoed
as mandolins cried into evening

and moonlight crested upon hills
with a ghost fire that burned my soul

your kiss the piece of the puzzle
i never pictured

a hunger that consumes
that lost heart

that your caress left hollow.
