Her last birthday at home she was just 5, I didn't know how we would ever survive
The last birthday of his was at 8, I didn't know how to help him be a man from so far away
Yet each year that passed was woven into our hearts, tracked in skateboard, trains or cars.
Never to miss anytime if less than half, love builds a bridge for all spirits to part
The sand in the hourglass can cover our trail, at moments feel like there's no way to prevail
Hope can be lost as it can be found, the journey is short but takes its toll.
The gift of a smile will always soothe the soul, if you give what was needed then it won't feel so long.
Before you know it you'll write poetry in memory of all that made you strong, to dance the rest of the days to any emotional song.
Life is for living and it's hard to believe, we're all right where we belong until we need more room to breathe.

I think it’s difficult to be believe that life is for living … when we are caught up in pain .. but your right it completely is for living
Something that I find very confusing .,
I guess it’s difficult not to spend as much time with your kids .. as you perhaps want to
I’ve had an ‘ on and off ‘ relationship with my dad for a while now . Met up with him a few weeks ago , made me feel sad about time not seeing him , but it was nice !
Relationships can always improve between people .
It was difficult but time had passed and they are getting full-time into their own lives.
They will always be little no matter how big they grow and this I'm afraid it's hard to know until the seeds are your own.
I'm glad you got time to spend with yours and enjoy what we now have, is all we can do.
