Tune: Ode to Joy
('Joyful, joyful, we adore thee')
Malachi 3 v. 6-12 {Old Testament Minor Prophet}
*********
For I am the LORD, I change not
You my people, this your lot
Return to me, and so I will
Return to you, do good still
But you say, How shall we return?
What the matter of concern?
You have robbed me, yet you do say
How have we robbed you these days?
It be in your tithes, offerings
You rob me, not me them bring
You are cursed with a curse, return
To me, be blessed, of me learn
Bring all tithes into the store house
That there be food in my house
And prove me now with this, the LORD
Says, see the truth of my word
See if I open the windows
Of heaven, that blessing flows
Shall pour it out, that there be not
Room to receive it, your lot
I will rebuke devourer
For your sakes I shall then stir
He shall not destroy fruits of your
Ground, nor vines be spoilt, 'tis sure
And all nations shall call you blessed
This by them shall be confessed
For you shall be a delightsome
Land, prosperity shall come
Says the LORD of hosts, Him obey
Continue in truthful ways
Justice, fairness, and righteousness
In such the LORD shall you bless
