It's so heavy
How to lift?
So much to remove
After our rift
That's MY piano
Oops I forgot, that's yours
I'm leaving behind
The plastic figure of Jaws
Hey why 4 forks
But only 3 spoons?
Who took that 1?
Your friends those Goons?
Beatles' is yours
Bee Gees' is mine
What's happened dear?
We were so fine
Ugh! Too much to take
From every room
We won't part today
But we'll meet by Zoom!
I just read of a local (very rich) well known couple going through a divorce. Plenty of media attention on who gets what. It got me thinking about normal couples going through this....

I'm sure the lawyers will be happy with their split. No winners though.
Yes lawyers have the best deal! Thank you for reading.
a fun read and some inventive wordplay,
thanks for sharing
Thank you for your comments.
Chainsaw everything in two that way she really does get half of everything lol, nicely penned piece ☺
I’ve heard of this happening in nasty divorces where the other person’s favourite items are halved! Thank you for your comments.
This brought back painful memories for me. I remember my dad packing his Beatle albums. My mom and dad(well stepdad, but at the time I was unaware, but he'll always be my dad) separated when I was 7,devorced by 9. The Beatles were his #1 favourite,he had every one of their albums. But he didn't get all his Beatles albums,I still have a few. Please don't feel bad because your words brought back a painful memory for me. Painful memories are just as important as all our memories. Thanks for sharing Rozina😀✌️🕊
I am sorry for dredging up some painful memories. It must be devastating for the child/children when the parents divorce. Thank you for your comments.
I heard it said,it's hardest on the kids,..people like me are proof it's true, lol😂
Never really did all that kind of stuff in my divorce about 35 years ago. My ex and i remain good friends with mutual respect. It has to be different where there are young children.
Children are so fortunate when parents’ divorce is amicable. They continue to feel loved and that it’s not their fault. Thank you for sharing your positive story.
It should be tragic
Yet a smile passed by
Just remembered a relationship which broke front of eyes
They kept fighting over a bottle of perfume and a torn shirt of linen
Such love can fade away so easily in time ?
Well crafted dear Rozina
Brought inside both grief and a smirk of smile
Thank you so much.
They say, 'time heals all wounds,' but what do they know? It's not healing but learning to live with it. I have been there. I don't know if I ever got over it, 46 years ago, but I learned to live with it. Peace Love and Healing!
That's true. Learning to live with memories, good or bad. There is no delete button. Thank you.
Strong and true words Rozina, who gets what is fundamental in divorce.
Andy
Thank you.
Loved this Rosina.
We be all been there.
Loverly write.
Thank you. Unfortunately in these tough times the divorce rates have increased. With global climate change even birds like the usually monogamous albatross are not spared.
Loved this Rosina.
We be all been there.
Loverly write.
.. if this little beauty was inspired by a newspaper article, then I seriously take my hat off to you Roz ... okay, so it's your hat ... x
I have a lovely gardening hat, thanks Neville!
