For The Tinkling Of Glasses.

Goldfinch60

Is there a sound that is better than music?

Some people think so,

As they think that

The tinkling of glasses,

All music surpasses.

They long to see bottles a draining,

That drinking enters their soul

Abandoning all other sounds.

As the glasses tinkle again

And more drink is poured

Yes is can be a good sound,

A sound to look forward to.

But in my mind,

In my mind and body

Music is the best sound,

The best sound in my life.

It's me tinkling, or tinkering, with the glasses, and adding water! heehee.

    • Goldfinch60

I do realise that and that Is why I have told the singing gods to stop you singing.

      I truly agree
      Music is healing
And those tinkering and tinkling is just escaping
      A good one dear poet

So true spilleronsheet, music is a wonderful healer in our lives.

Definitely music. For sadness, happiness, love, anger, so many varieties for so many emotions. For healing.

        • Goldfinch60

Very true Rozina, I have had all emotions from music.

I dont listen to so much music these days, oh but when i do.... i am lifted. Many things colour my thoughts listening to music and of course it contains one of my greatest 'what ifs'.
Music has become a very emotional vehicle in these recent years.

          • Goldfinch60

I too am always lifted with music and it brings all emotions to me d a.

            well maybe
we could consider it, this way
            would it be too, absurd
            to suggest
            the 'tinkling of glasses'
            may produce a melodic, ding
            that's worthy of inclusion
            as part of music's
            sheer, randomly diverse
            entropy...
            (well, admittedly
            I did stretched it far
            but there's, room enough
            to tie some semblance
            of connectivity
            however absurd, my theory)
            lol
            thanks Andy

Yes 'the tinklling of glasses' does produce a tune but maybe not like this one:

              • Goldfinch60

Thank you wh. music is my life and yes I would take music every time in spite of enjoying my occasional glass of wine.

A brilliantly written poetic question here Andy, and I agree with your answer at the end.

Though I do consider myself a son of Dionysus on a regular basis, whilst I'm at the pub, there is always some poetry in my bag to read, and there's always music in the air.

Bravo, and I hope that all is well!
