what has come over me
where has empathy gone
i read poetry of despair
where once i raised
to contribute hope
words of comfort
offer a warmth
of literary embrace
now my cold shoulder
turns the page in hope
of selfish inspiration
what has come over me

anger, is often
the first and easiest of emotions
for us to turn to
especially when experiencing
such unfair
and all-consuming, bleak passages
in our lives
so it's ok, to vent a little or agitate others
if it works
to drown-out, that incessant need
for carnage
but, just balance it
with some deeds of kindness
when the opportunity arises
we should never: choose
to let our frustration's, hate
warp who we are
in-to some, poisonous existence
that only inflicts pain
on strangers, because its easy
to do so
especially
if we were a decent person, to begin with
that's only hurting ourselves, even more
in the end,
dear cherished Poet
and fellow quester of 'right action'
amongst
life's abundance of wrongness...
I noticed this in me and knew it was out of character for me. Thanks LBM.
Sometimes we just need to pamper our selves. I was reading Teddys reply. I'm sorry I didn't realize. Take a break, have a Kit Katπ€βπβπ

As a sufferer i feel your words and loved your poem my friend βΊ
We are only human. We have good days, bad days. Could be brilliant tomorrow. All the best.
The despair in the poetry has recently become more telling, is it that people are becoming so low in their lives due to the world problems, especially the covid ones.
We will come out of this as you will d a and life will be good once more.
Andy
It could be that covid has put us all under additional stress yes, and I'm reacting to my share of that. Been shielding for nearly two years now.
don't despair, all is fair. As long as your poems come from your heart. Don't dare your poems to compare
each one is a new start.
I liked the message you had
