And when She Finally Spoke

Brandy

And when she finally spoke she ripped every hidden truth from every broken heart that carried a burden it didn’t own !!!
She scrubbed the dirty from every little secret and destroyed the power they never carried!!!
Not with malice for anyone but… with love for herself?
With measured guidance at times, unrestrained anger and pain at others and ……..petty immaturity more than once.

But always with the courage she summons from pure desperation to be ……. to be something, to be any fucking thing.

To know who she is?! To finally …..???   To finally know who tf …..she really is.  But…… what if??

Cause she lies…..and she hides? yes she hides……. she hides
something different from each…. ..each one??  Each and every. Single. One.

And runs…..and runs and runs……cause you can’t know
Can’t…….
That she truly doesn’t know……. Anything….. Anything at all…..

But…..
when she finally spoke-when she finally spoke the words that made her…… made her, her??
Made her…….. her??  Yes her

She… finally…. began… she finally began to learn. To learn….. to learn…. to just…… be.

And when she finally spoke……no longer……finally no longer ……did she need to be heard.
 Not by anyone…….

And when she finally spoke……. it was, it really just was……. and nothing more
And finally……. finally…. maybe that was enough

And when she finally spoke, when she finally spoke……….she finally spoke.

………………..

  • Comment from author about the poem: If you get it……. than you know me, probably better than i know myself . Writing it was a moment of pure enlightenment because it ended so far from where it started but still somehow exactly where it was supposed to go. Thank you

I would say the woman has released herself from every chain that ever bound her.

This piece speaks to me on a deep and personal level. There is always that thing that holds us back, memories, people, material things, obligation, it is such a relief to be free.
        That freedom doesn't come easy.
        Thank you for publishing.

She finally accepted herself for who she really is, broke free from judgement that haunts everyone until you discover who you are
        Great piece
