Evading The Truth.

Goldfinch60

In life we see so many things,

But some people just see the surface.

If they looked beyond the surface

A deeper look at life will be seen,

Making it more understood,

Showing so much more

Than the surface seen,

But some will not do this,

Meaning the true meaning of life,

The real meaning of life evades them.

Listening is the same.

So many people just hear,

Just hear and never listen,

And once more they do not understand,

Do not understand the true meaning,

The true meaning of the things they hear.

So once again they evade the truth,

The truth that is there.

So much to be seen and heard,

But so much evaded by so many

Through not looking deeper,

Or listening to what they hear.

      A surface conversation:
      'How are you?'
      'Oh, having a terrible time'.
'Erm. I thought you would say 'OK thanks'. I didn't actually want you to say that. Doh! Now I gotta listen to your troubles for about three hours!'

        It happens sometimes Orchi.

You are absolutely correct. They hear but they don't listen. It's all about self now. Love this poem.

Thank you Rozina, yes there are so many who only care about themselves and do not realise how troubled others can be.

You are a philosopher sir .. oh' n while we are at it .. has anyone heard the line from an old western that goes .. paleface looks, but speaks with forked tongue .. must have been referring to our so called PM .............................. N 🙂

We have these great five senses, but in life, the sixth sense is probably the most important. Truth can be interpreted in many ways, and usually signed off as such.

(just love the musicality you've imbued into this verse,
by perfectly showcasing the art of purposed repetition in poetry, Andy
this is such a wonderful reading experience
it's like a verse, just waiting to have music written for it and performed
            a lovely write!
thank you for sharing my friend)
