God, who at sundry times did say

And in various ways

Spoke to our ancestors of old

By prophets them He told

 

in these last days now He speaks still

By His Son, that His will

Whom He has appointed the heir

Of all things, just and fair

 

By whom He also the worlds made

His creation displayed

His Son He is the brightness sure

Of God's glory e'ermore

 

And He is the express image

Of His person, the bridge

To lead mankind to God, the Way

The Truth, Life for our days

 

He upholds all things by the word

Of His power, assured

When He had by himself our sins

Forgave, cleansed us within

 

Then He sat down at God's right hand

He Lord of every land

He with the Majesty on high

Yet to His people nigh
