DARTS

DARTS

 Ray Finch

New darts in hand, stems and flights aligned

Walk to the hockey, in position, now take my time

Look at the board aim the dart and let it go

Following its path as it puts on a show

Wow good throw, 60 scored 2 more to go

Same again, eye and arm in line

Foot on the hockey, the release is fine

Slicing through the air, It’s straight and neat

Both side by side, that’s no mean feat

Wow good throw, 120 scored 1 more to go

Now settle down, and forget the crowd

Do this right and feel proud

Raise your arm, and lock your eye

Now let’s all see that dart fly

Wow good throw, no more to go

One Hundred & EIGHTY

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Used to love playing darts in the smokey pub. What ever happened.

no other number has been celebrated so boisterously in the history of sports
      than that, 180
      (love the dramatics
      when the camera zooms-in
      after the first two 60's
      have been landed)
great fun, just like your write
      thanks for sharing

I used to play darts in my younger years and I do have a dartboard set up in my garage where I throw the odd dart.
When the film 'Carrie' came out I saw it in the cinema and when Carrie sends three knives at her mother a guy in the audience shouted out "ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY" as the last one landed, the audience laughed their heads off.
