Tune: St Peter
('How sweet the name of Jesus sounds')
Psalm 32 v.7-11
********
You are my hiding place, you shall
Preserve me, I know well
Lord, from trouble, you me surround
In you my refuge found
You shall give me songs of safety
Of deliverance free
You will instruct me and teach me
In the way you go, see
You will guide me, will look upon
Me with your eye, may none
Be as horse or as mule, for they
Are not tame, so we say
For they have no understanding
But true 'tis in each thing
Must be restrained, bit and bridle
They need, to be curbed all
Many sorrows to the wicked
Shall be, but they who led
By the Lord, and do in Him trust
Find help, though they mere dust
Mercy shall surround them, they be
Joyful in the Lord free
They righteous and upright in heart
serve the Lord in each part [of their lives]
