even when I’m no longer

What an awful discovery
that was ..
But then, you know that
don’t you ..

Cor, this can be read several ways, either with a relationship or after one has split up. The last one of mine to split up gave me a huge sense of freedom to my own existence and lifestyle back.
Re-read your words a couple of times (im sure you do this ambiguous trick on purpose) and now i'm thinking it's aimed at a self centred selfish lady.
Well, certainly a head scratcher of a post, which is a good thing for a dunce like me.
