Surrender.
Oh what bubble-wrapped film
covers this dawning
where creeping sunlight shafts
away shadows and
lawn-blades drip vapour as
breeze scatters Spring
on earth's verdant surrender.
What glory throbs as avian
chorus of offerings
falls trilling from tree-tops
onto new morning
of dewy-wet plenty as day
softens dark's edges.
If air could be measured for
clarity, scaled and
weighed for virginal glisten
it has to be now as
first rays make an entrance.

There's something special in the air as the day dawns. Photographers want the early morning light for its clarity. Romantic poets want the dawns air for its renewal of our faith in the majesty of creation.
Beautiful poetic images and birdsong on this chill morning.
Yes early mornings have long had my attention as words coil around such an outlay of beauty when day begins making dark into light. So glad you enjoyed the read dear Dusk.
Your poetry always lifts my spirits, Fay - thank you - a beautiful piece. GMH would be proud.
You greatly honour my work to put it even near the famous and classical names dear Keith - -- oodles of thanks for your visits and kind reviews.
Beautiful, beautiful words Fay.

I knew you would like this little tribute to wonderful nature dear Andy. Thanking you so very kindly for all your support.
It's no 'surrender' (in the sense of giving up hopelessly) for me to say this is a fine poem Fay!
Am so pleased you surrendered your thoughts in this lovely comment and thank you sincerely dear Orchi.
I did not surrender my singing, though they tortured me to do so! I continued singing, and tortured THEM! lol.
Fantastic lines making dawn appear right in front of me.
And that really delights my heart Roz when the piece shifts readers to see the scene my words tried to depict - -- so pleased you enjoyed Surrender.
