The Jazz Quartet.

Goldfinch60

I was there again,

There at the jazz club

Not knowing what to expect,

A group I had not heard before

Piano, bass and drums,

Led by a violin.

On the stage they came

And played.

What a sound they made,

I was pulled straight in,

Straight in to their music.

The smile grew on my face,

As it did on all.

Feet were tapping,

Heads were nodding.

The feeling of absolute wonder

Came within me,

Each time they played a new song

They seemed to get better,

And when I looked at them

They were smiling,

All smiling,

Enjoying the music,

The music they were creating

And giving to us,

Us sitting there watching,

Watching and listening,

Listening to this amazing group.

The time went so fast

And so filled with the wonder,

The wonder of their sound.

They finished their last tune

And the roof was raised,

The clapping and cheering so loud,

So loud for this group.

What a wonderful evening,

One that I will remember for ever.

  • Fay Slimm.

What a performance straight from each musician's heart - - I love good jazz clubs -- was there with you Andy in what was once a favourite night out - -- thanks a load for sharing the video.

So very true, it was the first concert they had done since lockdown and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as did we.

Envious, I'm just not well enough or I'd be attempting to join you there.

I put headphones on and enjoyed the music.

So sorry you cannot join me, I hope that one day you will be well enough to come and join me at those concerts, last Wednesday of every month.

They certainly surprised us all in what they could do, they were amazing.

        Glad you're enjoying your jazz!
We have a weekly Folk-type group in town. They have visiting players and also some 'Singers Evenings', where members are the singers themselves.
Aww, why no-one turn up on those evenings except me?! lol You knows why.

          Thanks Orchi.

One of my acquaintances runs a folk group but I have not heard them - yet.

And the band played on,as they say. You describe the atmosphere of the club so well Andy,it reminded me of going to see my friends jazz band. The Tim Hamel Quartet. Thanks so much for the great memories you've generated.🍻😊🕊
