Tune: Buckland
('Loving Shepherd of thy sheep')
Psalm 146 v.5-10
*********
Happy they who the Lord, they
Have Him for their help each day
He their God, their hope is in
Him, forgiven be their sin
He made heaven, earth, and sea
And all that within them be
He keeps the truth for ever
Falsity and lies never
He brings justice to oppressed
Gives food to hungry, they blessed
Sets prisoners free, they be
Captive now unto Him, see
He opens eyes of the blind
Clarity of sight they find
Raises up those that bowed down
That fall, as if 'neath life's frown
He loves the righteous, preserves
Strangers, orphans He conserves
And widows and widowers
But wicked no aid confers
He turns upside down their way
They not know Him in their day
But He shall reign for ever
The Lord's rule ceases never
