Whole

Valerie

You look at me like no other man has,

sometimes I wonder if I’ll ruin you.

Other times,

I know you would fix me.

This persona I give to others

I never want to give to you

because I know

you would rather see me.

I want nothing

but to stare at your smile

until my eyes rot.

With you

I feel real.

    'This persona
    I give to other's, I never
    want to give: to you'
(dear Poet, I read your poetry
    like I smell - sip
my days, first cup of simmering coffee
    my anticipation, just
won't let me wait those few minutes
    to let it cool
it's like I need that scolding - raw
    first experience, every time...)
hope you never stop writing and sharing
for you have a most precious, poetic talent

That is the ultimate compliment!! Also very ironic since I read your comments while sipping my morning coffee haha. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read them!

      There is something special here.
"This persona I give to others
I never want to give to you
      because I know
      you would rather see me".

Love that last line: "With you I feel real." I feel the people we love the most are the people we can feel safe and secure expressing ourselves around without any restraint or inhibition.
