relax

dusk arising

Bring out from yourself
the other which you've
been afraid to show
relax into becoming known
for who you really are
not something you thought
they wanted to see

I agree Rose. It took me a long time to relax into being me. Thank you.

    • Rozina

Sometimes possible, sometimes not so easy. Good advice.

You too are right Rozina for i know it took a long time before I could relax into being me. I'm not sure if I'm 100% me yet TBH. Thank you.

The five letter word so essential “relax”
It’s been long since someone said so, burdened by duties and ambitions
When was the last the dreams allowed to sleep peacefully
        Well penned dear dusk

I think we can relax into being 100% the real us in our dreams but the real world is too cruel and critical for most of us to let down our guard. Thankfully I am now at a stage where i dont give a flying f^^k what others think of me and just get by regardless. You are right that ambitions can curve us away from what we really are whilst trying to be what we think others want of us. But strangely, if all our ambition were realised and we were to become 'top dog' would we then feel free to relax into being ourselves or would we hold onto what we think others expect us to be? Interesting thought isn't it when you look at characters like Hitler and Saddam Hussein or dare I say it Boris LOL

A good for thought you left in the answer
            Not all ambitions are met
But yes most of the part goes on for striving that
And then one day we are relaxed or content that we did what we could to our best
So even if we can be our best that itself can make us relax, I guess

I'm retired now and I can look back at the times when i was being something i wasn't and where it got me - not very far. Hence i now think just be me.

            • Almost

A poem to think about. Almost feels like a reminder.

Well it's a bit of idealism really. I like to think i'm relaxed into being the real me but I still dress neatly to go shopping lol. Thank you for reading and commenting here.

An important and timely message, Dusk
                thanks for sharing..
(such a hard thing, to do
                because first
we've all, got to find that 'yourself'
                since
we're so used to that other: 'self'
                we've spent our lives, projecting
                to the world...)

It;s easy as pie this finding yourself stuff..... just listen to your dreams... they tell you who you are.... then... the next step is, do you have the balls to reveal that in public LOL
I'd like to think I can genuinely be the real me, but the further down this page i get responding to comments, the more uncertain I'm becoming.

Never be somebody your not, always be genuine and don't get discouraged by what others.

I can understand that,if you ever have any questions that Dion or myself can help with, about anything, not just religion,we might be able to help

                    • Crowns4Christ

I'm not meaning that, it's just that it helps sometimes to get a different perspective on things

                    • Goldfinch60
