Some scribes and Pharisees did say

Jesus, show us today

A sign, it we wold see, do show

It to us, so we know

You can do signs, but Jesus said

This unwise path not tread

Of seeking signs only, there none

I give, but only one

 

It sign of the prophet Jonah

You may know it for sure

That as he was three days, three nights

In whale's belly, no sights

Of him were seen then, yet so shall

The Son of man, know well

Be three days and three nights in heart

Of the earth, that His part

 

They of Nineveh shall up rise

With you, it be surprise

For they shall condemn you, for they

Repented in their day

When they heard Jonah's preaching they

Turned from their sinful way

Behold, one greater than Jonah

Be here, to Him hearts stir

 

The queen of Sheba shall rise too

With you, condemn you true

For she came from earth's farthest end

Ears to Solomon lend

To hear his wisdom, and behold

The news, let it be told

One greater than Solomon be

Here amidst you freely
