Unpolished

Agiel

I seem to be losing my faith again
The stars and moon still shine, yet they shine different;
They shine of sorrow and pity, not of love and hope
Maybe they don't shine at all but weep instead
Neither night nor dark feel threatening but rather comforting

Is it possible for the dark to feel pity of you
Being of broken light surrounded by darkness
Could it be that even the dark can not withstand
Watching such light fading away like dying ambers

But here I lay at the edge of balance
Watching the stars and moon shine different
Feeling both light and dark take pity
Watching the shine fade and the ambers cooling

Maybe it is best like this, for me to shine different too
Feeling my ambers growing cold
And both light and dark fading away
Just as the shine of the stars and moon
In a complete eternal eclipse

I felt you encapsulated one of the wonders of the way things are in our existence.... how the world, stars the whole environment bends to our mood and needs. After all if we are on a downer, the last thing we want is a half baked response from anyone or anything. Maybe you could imagine the moon taking the piss if it helps?

P.S. Your profile shows you have never commented on other poets posts on here... why is that?

This is true. How beautiful it is to feel like you hold the world in your hands in one moment, and the oceans in your lungs in the other. I suppose that's how life is, a bunch of tests and rollercoasters.

I have never commented on another poets post this is true, nor have read much either. I suppose I look at MPS as an outlet for myself as opposed to a community, not because I am against community, but rather because I v iew it as an outlet to share my soul, and if that fails, at least there would be a trace and proof that I have felt this life. But that's a good question, maybe I should start reading and commenting too.

Lovely poem! The way it's "unpolished" brings out its nature and sentiments. Sometimes refining a poem until "perfection" makes it bland or too drawn-out. Good job! 👍

Couldn't agree more! This is the first poem ever I have not bothered about coming up with matching words or flow. It's about sharing the clutter exactly as is, you either understand or you do not. Thank you for your lovely comment!
