Better time

Hailey Black

When I first saw you we were young,

Not knowing what love is

Playing with, each other, thinking

It is all just a difficult game.

Not realizing what it is actually,

You where there holding my hand,

At my side trying to tell me.

But I was blinded by the life.

It was the wrong moment, when

You stepped few steps behind,

Becoming what you are now.

And your love is gone

I can’t even look in your eyes,

Wishing I know what I felt at that time.

I’m lost, wandering around stars,

While you kissed a girls yesterday.

I hope your new heart feel,

I’m actually falling apart,

Shaking and not knowing what to do,

Still hearing your dreamy voice:

Don’t close your eyes I’m here.

Opening my eyes now I just see you,

Looking away from me at the other way.

I will do the same, letting you go,

Even if it impossible to forgot.

I run at the other way,

Waiting if you ever see, that

I felt the same, when you left.

Great poem! Young love is always filled with confusion and uncertainty. You wrote it well! 👍

betrayal, is such a cruel part of life
    but many have overcome it
and so that gives us, strength
to imagine the days to come
when we too, can soar above it..
    wonderfully raw and relatable
    thanks for sharing
