Be you not drunk with wine

It be a state not fine

For therein is excess

A state that will not bless

But do be filled with the Spirit

Your path by him be daily lit

 

Speak to yourselves in psalms

Do good, and do give alms

And hymns, spiritual songs

Keep singing all along

make melody in your heart to

The Lord, with praises old and new

 

Giving thanks too always

For always through the days

Thanks to God the Father

Blessings He does confer

On us, so giving thanks in name

Of the Lord Jesus Christ thus frame

 

Yield to one another

Each sister and brother

Met in God's family

You His daughters, sons be

Let it be done within the fear

Of God, knowing He always near

 

Whate'er our feelings be

Not rely on these, see

Nor letting outward things

Dictate the praise each brings

Bu always for all things do aim

To praise God, glorify His name
