Tune: Buckland
('Loving Shepherd of thy sheep')
James 1 v.22-25; Matthew 7 v.24-27
************
Be you doers of the word
Of God, for you it have heard
But do not mere only hear
If so, you deceive self here
If hearing only, one be
As in mirror self does see
Beholds a few moments, when
Goes away forgets view then
But who looks into the law
Perfect law of liberty sure
And continues in it, shows
Actions, such true blessing knows
If hearing and not doing
Recall this, and to mind bring
I like man who built on sand
No progress made on his land
But if hearing and doing
We shall know the Lord's blessing
Be like man who on rock built
In storms stood firm, did not wilt
