Acceptance

Ash :)

Maybe saying it was for the best

But there's still a feeling of instant of regret

I know it was the right thing to do

But my heart is still saying I Love You...

I'll accept if you don't feel the same

I'll just cry and regret in pain

My mind feeling it was best to let go

My heart still hanging onto that rose

Emotions mixing inside of me

It probably wasn't meant to be

My heart and mind fight in this battle of love and hate

A desicion can never be made

Why why do these feeling stay

Why cant I just accept it and walk away

Is this me hating love

Or is this me craving some

Someone please help

I can't do this by myself

Omg NO please don't break! I love YOU! I feel like this a poem about the lack of acceptance from someone who opposes your sexuality. If so, I recommend reading my poem "My Silent Protest" I literally go off on my homophobic dad. But listen, even when people don't accept you, I totally understand still feeling that love for them. We (as the LGBTQ+ community) just have to understand that not everybody is going to "get it." People are ignorant. But we are more open-minded than the ones who oppose us, so it's our duty to continue loving them despite that tension. Great poem! 💖
