No more, No less

Ajax (he/xe)

I took 30 pills,
No more, no less
I had hoped
It would lead me to death
Instead I was led
To this hospital bed
Still wishing I was dead

The blue blurry nurse,
Enters the room -
"How do you feel?"
She asks -
"Like I've just been yanked out the womb"
I respond with a snicker,
as holey lights flicker.

Thirty words
No more no less
I'll give it a shot
And do my best
I'v just reached halfway
Now beyond the point of no return
It's been fun
Thanks

The nurse says I'm fine
and that I'm free to go.
The phrase made me shudder.
I'd like to go home,
but I won't stay.
I'll stop by Jacob's place
for a quick beer,
just before I end it all.
Is that a wall?
I can't tell anymore.
This happens way to often.
I'll never be okay,
but we can save that for another day.

No more
No less
Number thirty is my guess
How many jube jubes on the jars
Do you ever gaze upon stars
To see one shooting by within your eyes

Love the symmetry of the poem, even with the dark subject matter, it's a good read.
